So what exactly is ACCT? It stands for America, Canada, Caribbean Together, and we are a Rotaract multidistrict information organization, or MDIO (the Rotary family loves acronyms!). Like the name suggests, an MDIO is a group of districts that join together to share information. For Rotaract, it is a way to organize ourselves beyond the district level. ACCT is not an administrative structure and isn’t here to create a new set of rules for its members. ACCT is all about helping you, your club, and your district.
We are firm believers that sharing information- whether it be about projects, recruitment tips, or fundraising ideas- is one of the greatest tools we have. However, it’s a tool that is useless unless we get it out of the “toolbox” and use it! There’s no need to reinvent the wheel when we can learn from another club that’s “been there and done that!”
ACCT is still relatively young and developing. We’re working constantly to add more features to our website. The site will eventually contain tools such as membership directories and an extensive resource library. ACCT also provides informative newsletters and e-mail distribution lists. As we continue to grow, so will the services we offer our members. All this is managed by a group of volunteer leaders, the ACCT Council. This leadership team also provides an opportunity for Rotaract leaders to “take the next step” beyond district leadership.
